Health update

I need to give a health update. On myself. Yes yes, Olivia is doing GReAT!

And myself...

My stitches from my tear are slowly-but-surely healing. The week after returning home from the hospital, I noticed that one day, things would feel just fine and dandy, and then the next day it'd feel itchy and slightly uncomfortable. Then the next day fine, then the following day itchy again. I noticed that the stitches "disappeared" sometime in that first week home... maybe around the fourth or fifth day?

Today, I'm still sore, and still have occasional "itchy" days (or just hours). Some days are better than others, but I no longer need the occasional Ibuprofan (sp? ... I took one about every other day, or one every couple of days... just when things felt more unfortable than "normal").

Also during my first week home, the second row of joints in my hands were sore!!! Ugh. Not fun. Now that I think back, I think the were a little sore during the last few weeks of pregnancy (which made it hard for me to squeeze my ring onto my ring finger). Except during the week, my joints were VERY sore. In fact, I'd wake up in the morning, and my left hand would be SO stiff...I'd have to clench and release a fist a few to times to "wake it up"... it felt like what I would imagine arthritis to feel like. :P

Let's see... what else... bleeding is tapering off. Nice. I need to remember to drink more water during my waking hours...otherwise my pee is quite amber-0range. Yuck.

The first few days home, it took me a while to adjust my posture since I'm no longer carrying a huge load in my belly. Still need to work on my HORRIBLE posture AND "turtle neck". haha... my back has been getting a bit sore the past couple of days...posture posture posture...

Fitting back into most of my pre-pregancy clothes now. Sweet! Lululemon pants are looking good!

My belly is slowly shrinking down. Interesting to see... I wish I had taken a side picture of myself when I first got home...it was kinda a cute belly. And now it's shrunk.

My feet were swollen for the first few days home...now they're back to normal.

I believe I weighed in at 120 lbs this morning... I'll check again tomorrow.

Baby Bjorn and Hot Sling

So here I am playing with the baby bjorn (practicing with it) and a new sling that Tim's parents sent me for my birthday. Very cute! (I'm wearing my LuLuLemon capris and a tank...trying to do a quick photoshoot...maybe I'll post those later).

Happy Birthday!

So for the past few days, Tim has been bugging me about what I want for my birthday. Usually I'd go for a shopping spree where I can venture from store to store and buy random stuff. But being pregnant and all, that didn't sound too much fun. Plus, Tim wanted to do something "different" for me this year.

I had no idea what he would do...ESPECIALLY since we spend most of our time TOGETHER.

Well, being the cutie that he is, he found a good way to surprise me.

This morning after waking up, he presented me with a pair of REALLY nice Yoga pants. Lululemons. I had never heard of them until this morning... I guess he went to the store and talked to the sales reps and they helped him pick out a pair for me. He said that there were a TON of other ladies at the store shopping the Lululemon line (while wearing their Lululemon items).

So today while at work, I did some research on this "Lululemon". (Pronounced "lu-lu-lemon").

It's a company based out of Canada...and a TON of yoga fanatics (and celebrities) LOVE their line of clothing and accessories.

Tim bought me a pair similar to the ones below... Black Capri's with a blue/turqoise band-top-waist. Their reversable, so on one side, the band is all blue. And on the other side, it's blue and white-and-gray striped.

They look like this on a mannequin (from a Japanese website):

And the long pants look like this on a real person (a very slim un-pregnant person).

I tried them on this morning... Ooh, are they comfortable! AND they give me a nice bum! haha! (Granted, this pregnancy thing has already given me a more booty-licious bum... but those pants sure give it an extra kick.)

:)
At work, I received a beautiful bouqet of roses:

That (above) is my cubicle. We've been in the process of transitioning our systems... so I have two phones on my desk (one is behind the roses). Notice my garbage can with foam board and a blanket on top...I put my feet up every so often.

After work, Tim took me to a nice steakhouse (that his co-workers recommended to him... they had just gone their the night before). The place was so cute!! We sat out on the deck and enjoyed a view of the green bayou.

We ordered their restaurant special, which allowed us to order a 4-course meal, including dessert. This is what we ordered...
TL: My appetizer, some sort of onion and red onion dish. Yummy! Tim ordered a bowl of French Onion soup (not pictured).
TR: Our side dishes...I ordered some German Potatoes (left), and Tim ordered some grilled Cheese Macaroni (right). Double good.
ML: Tim's entree, a 6oz Filet Mig.
MR: My entree, salmon...mmmm...SO GOOD!
BL: My dessert, Apple Strudel with vanilla ice cream. Delicious! I would go back JUST for the dessert!
BR: Tim's dessert, Raspberry souflee...VERY good!
At one point during our meal, Tim was like, "Ugh...I think I'm done. I can't eat anymore." A minute or so later he burped, and said, "Ooh, I feel better now. I can keep eating." haha!

Wierd Clothes

These pics are for my sister... because that yellow shirt was hers. :)

Speaking of my older sister... I was going to wear one of her long dresses that she gave me this past Easter Sunday... (it was a blue and yellow gingham-type dress). Tim said it was still too big for me, so I changed. Then at church, he told our friends that it looked like one of those polygamist dresses. Hey! Rude! :) haha...

Clothing Update

I finally got around to making some size-dividing tags...

And put them to use. I love 'em! We really don't have any clothes that are hanging after the 9-12 month tag...should we just wait till after she's born? Or should we ask people to help us stock-up in that size area?

And THIS was cool... did I mention this in a previous post? So after hanging and organizing all the baby clothes, I discovered that my sister and Tim's sister had given us the exact same outfit! Well, not "exact", I guess. The new one on the left is size 3-6 months, and the older one on the left is 6-12 months (or maybe it's the other way around). Regardless, notice how the dresses look to be the EXACT same size! (I bet washing and drying the "new" one will shrink it down).
We are SO lucky that our sisters have given us SO MUCH CLOTHES! (and other stuff, too)!

Nesting for the Baby!

This weekend (before I got sick) I spent a TON of time preparing for baby. I cleaned. I rearranged the 2nd walk-in closet/storage room. I cleaned and rearranged OUR closet. Phew! Got SO much done! It felt great! (And at first, I thought maybe I had done too much b/c my body started getting sore...but it was the stomach flu).

Not only that, but I pulled out all the baby clothes/stuff that we've been given and threw them in the wash (as per my sister's suggestion).

Bought a few things from Target to help keep things organized, and oila!

Here's a pic of a HUGE bag of girl clothes from Tim's sister. My sister had said, "Just throw all the baby clothes in the washer, that way you know for sure they're all clean and if she gets an allergic reaction, yada yada yada..." Well, I TRIED to fit them all in the wash. I fit about 3/4 of the bag in, but then discovered that I had to rinse THAT load (half and half) to get the soap out! :P hahaha! It was good that I had more than one load, though, b/c there were some more baby (and maternity) clothes from my sis that needed a washing.

Tada! After some slight rearranging of my clothes, all the clothes fit! Next step: Organize the clothes by 0-3 months, 3-6 months, etc. Got some hangers from Target for a decent price...just wish they were in white!

Bit Sterilite storage bin from Target. Holds shoes, socks, pants, bloomers, onesies, burp clothes, blankets, etc.

I don't think we'll need anymore clothes for this little girl for a little while. :)

Ahhh, how cute...

So two nights ago, I decided I needed a haircut. So I went into the bathroom, took out the scissors, and gave myself a trim. Phew! I'm glad it worked out okay! ;) haha! With all the fun (cheap) shopping that I've done, I didn't feel too inclined to go pay someone to cut my hair. PLUS, the gal that cuts my hair is on a cruise right now. So I cut it myself. It feels much better not to have a huge "wig" on top of my head. :)

I also waxed my 'stache, brows (and plucked them too), and even some of my belly. Did I mention that before? As my belly grows bigger, the little "peach fuzz" that I had on my belly seemed to get grosser and grosser... So whenever I wax my brows, I try to wax off some of my belly hair.

Needless to say, I had a MUCH better (feeling) day yesterday. I just felt "cuter". :P
Below is a picture of me after getting home from a "girl's night out" at the Cheesecake Factory.

Black pants from college. New dark gray long tank. Yellow-T from a couple years ago. Maroon necklace from last summer. Jean jacket from a couple years ago.

While I was in my "cute" mood, I decided to take some pics in my sister's long tanks (so she can see the colors that she asked for). Hopefully I didn't stretch them out. :) haha! Nice, long, and not-skin-tight! (I figure she could sew-them-in if they're too wide.)

Left to Right: Dark gray, brown, pink, blue. Not pictured: white.

I'll be posting a chart soon, but just FYI, I've gained about 2 pounds in the past week-and-a-half, and my belly has grown half-an-inch (who knew one half-inch would mean my pants would feel SO much tighter?!?). I think that means I'll have to find some time for another photoshoot this weekend.

Fatty Fat Fat

This past weekend, I've begun to feel F-A-T. Ugh.

ALSO, this weekend I felt slightly sluggish and tired (reminiscent of the First-Trimester days...double UGH).

Yes, I know I'm FAR from the time that I should REALLY be feeling like "I WANT THIS BABY OUT..." but that's how I felt this weekend. Triple UGH.

I think it's because my "normal" pants that I've been able to fit into are becoming to be a little TOO squeezed-into, thus leaving me with the gross muffin-top feeling. I was able to fit into a pair of REAL maternity pants on Saturday (though they were still slightly too big), and they felt more comfortable than my "normal" pants.

Baby girl seems to be moving around a lot too, with stronger kicks, punches, or WHATEVER it is she's doing in there!

Pants

As I mentioned in my last post, I just bought some awesome long t-shirts (for $3 each!) that I LOVE LOVE LOVE!

The store I purchased them from also had a TON of long tank tops for about $5 each. Niiice! I'll be going back sometime to stock up...

But what about my pants?? My pants are getting a little more snug... I'm still able to use the rubberband trick on some of them, and the maternity pants that I DO have on hand are still a bit too big. To my great surprise, I was able to rummage through my drawers and find another pair of black pants (that USED to be too large for me), and now they fit JUST perfect! Hopefully they'll fit for at least a few days or weeks. Haha! (These are the black pants I'm wearing in the pics of my last post).

10 of my Favorite Weekend Finds

So here are some of the AWESEOME deals I found this weekend at the mall, Goodwill Clearance Center, and wherever else I went. (I didn't buy TOO much more than 10 things...I just figured that lists are always nice). :)
  1. Green Shirt, $7. (Pictured on far left).
  2. Purple T-Shirt, $3. (2nd picture... I got this in purple, white, and dark gray).
  3. Eddie Bauer Vest, $1. (3rd picture... this was a GCC find!)
  4. Multi-color Vest, $5. (Far right picture... yes, that is quite a wierd pose. Tim was laughing at me while I was taking pictures, so I just had to "strike" a wierd one).

  5. Salmon-ish Colored Dress, $1.50 (Another GCC find! I picked it up and had a long, internal debate as to whether or not I wanted to give it a try. I'm glad I did! It looks a little funny around my growing belly... luckily it looks alright in the picture).

  6. Tan and Pink-heeled Pumps, $6 (Pictured in the middle).
  7. Awesome Cowboy Boots! $1.50 ("Welcome to Texas!" hahaha... I kept teasing Tim that he should get himself a pair...and then while I was at the GCC, I saw these. Well, I saw one boot, then I scoured the store for the other boot. Couldn't find it, couldn't find it, said a little prayer, and Wah-Lah! There it was! I need to research how to clean/polish 'em up).
  8. A baseball, $0.50 (not pictured).
  9. 4 Tall Glasses, $1.00 (not pictured).
  10. An OXO Salad Spinner, $5 (not pictured).
I think I know where to bring my mom and sisters when they come and visit...

Siiick...

So this past Saturday I discovered something that TOTALLY grossed me out... colostrum. Um, yeah. I don't think anyone mentioned this little tidbit to me... I even pulled out some of the pregnancy books that I have at home and NOTHING! No one mentions it. Sick sick sick...

Gone were the feelings of "this pregnancy thing is kind of cool" and back to those feelings of "WHAT have we done?!? This is disgusting!!"

Shopping for some extra "maternity" basics this weekend helped me get rid of SOME of those feelings... ugh. More posts soon (and maybe even pictures) about my cool finds...

Growing Belly

Didn't I just do a similar post?
Anywho... my belly is definately starting to show now. (Well, at least to ME--I went to the dentist for a cleaning yesterday, and the ladies were like, "You do NOT look pregnant!"

But yes, my belly is gradually growing.

Here are some pics I took of myself a couple/few weeks ago, and I'm finally posting. I've cropped out my head b/c I was making wierd faces. Like my necklace? Got it from the Bahamas! :D

I'll post some more pics once I take some...

I'm still able to fit into my "normal, non-pregnancy" clothes...but some of them are starting to get a little tight. This weekend I'm gonna try and go through them and fold-away the ones that are getting a little "too close for comfort". :) Those shorts pictured on the left were always too big for me...now they fit almost perfectly (still a little loose...or maybe it's b/c I still don't really have any hips, and they still wanna slide down). I LOVE all the long tank tops that I've collected over the past couple of years.

Pants & Maternity Clothes

I can still "suck it in" into some of my pants. Some are still more comfortable than other...hopefully my co-workers don't notice when I start wearing the same pair of pants day after day...after day...after day. :) Luckily I'm a small, clean asian and don't stink like other people after wearing pants for a day.

This weekend, I finally opened the box and mama-bag labeled "maternity". My older sister gave me some of her old maternity clothes (and undergarments) because we're about the same height. And I also bought a box full of small and medium maternity clothes off of Craigs List before leaving Utah. (Why I bought them way-back-when, I don't know. Maybe I was in a money-spending mood.)

It was so wierd to sort through the clothes and see a ton of things I remember seeing my sister wear (and making fun of her for it, too). So as she's thinning down and dressing more like "me", I guess I'm fattening up and will soon be dressing more like "her" (3 years ago). :D
